The North Queensland Cowboys are a team in the National Rugby League. They came runner-up in 2005, and achieved their first and only Premiership in 2015 against the Brisbane Broncos. Most recently, 2017 saw the Cowboys become the first eighth-placed team to make it to the Grand Final since Parramatta Eels in 2009, only to lose to the competition powerhouse Melbourne Storm.
