The Osaka Kintetsu Buffaloes, previously known as the Kintetsu Buffaloes, the Kintetsu Buffalo and the Kintetsu Pearls, were a team in Nippon Professional Baseball. They were the NPB team of Hideo Nomo, who began the wave of Japanese players moving to Major League Baseball. In 2005 they merged with the Orix BlueWave and became the Orix Buffaloes. They were also known as the team that Karl Rhodes (or Tuffy Rhodes as he is known) played for a majority of his career.
